Israel's "Right" To Exist

The following six points
clearly demonstrate the
basis for Israel’s legitimacy:

The biblical Land of Israel was the homeland of the Jewish People. It was from this land that Judaism developed. Most Jews today are direct descendants of the indigenous Jews who originally lived here. Both Christianity and Islam have their roots in Judaism.

Large numbers of Jews did not leave the Land of Israel of their own free will. In ancient times, the Romans expelled so many Jews to Rome as slaves that the slave market there was over-supplied and the price of slaves declined.

Throughout the ages, the Land of Israel was never empty of Jews. There were always small communities of mostly impoverished Jews who lived in the land. When the Arabs conquered Israel in the 7th Century, the largest Jewish community was in Gaza.

During modern times, land in Israel or Palestine was purchased, or more accurately redeemed, by private individuals and by the Jewish National Fund.

During the last 100 years a barren, neglected and derelict land, a land that no one wanted, was rejuvenated with private Jewish capital. Many Arab migrant workers were employed by Jewish organizations to develop projects.

Other lands in the Jewish Homeland that Israel acquired were done so by right of self-defense in wars of Arab aggression.
It was the League of Nations (the forerunner of the United Nations) that recognized the unique relationship between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel.
