SEATTLE The last victim of the Jewish center shooting in Seattle still in the hospital is scheduled to be released tomorrow from Harborview Medical Center.

After weeks in intensive care and still carrying a bullet in her spine, Layla Bush can walk with the help of a walker and says she's improving every day.Doctors praised her progress and positive attitude today at a media briefing.The 23-year-old was working as the receptionist at the Jewish Federation office on July 28th when a man forced his way in and opened fire. He killed one woman and wounded Bush and four other women.A 30-year-old Tri-Cities man, Naveed Afzal Haq, is charged with murder and other crimes.Bush says he shouldn't face the death penalty, but should spend the rest of his life

BlogMaster Comment: The police have yet to classify this event as a hate crime, instead, it is considered to be an isolated incident by a mentally deranged person. So ... now they have opened the door to let this calculating murder plead "insanity" and spend a few years in a cushy institution until he is "cured", after which he will be back on the street. This vicious attack was an act of Domestic Terrorism, plain and simple. It should be prosecuted as a Federal Crime, not by the State of Washington, and certainly not as an act by someone who was "insane" when he went on a spree to Kill and Maim Jews!
