* While insurgents have fled to other cities in Iraq, Iraqi and coalition forces are destroying them in large numbers due to cooperation of the Iraqi people and due to their visibility. Over 200 Al Qaeda backed insurgents that had fled Baghdad were killed in a single afternoon in Hillah.
* Recruitment into the Iraqi police force has shown a sharp increase from Sunnis ready to join the new Iraqi nation. In Al Anbar, a Sunni resistance stronghold, recruitment has increased from 1000 new recruits to 4000 in recent months due to tribal and civic cooperation among the Sunnis there.
