Ahmadinejad: Iran, Syria will remain united

We are two united brothers who will remain united- Iran's President -
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in his meeting with his Syrian counterpart ,Bashar Al-Assad , on Thursday that "We are two united brothers who will remain united , IRNA reported.Ahmadinejad's one-day visit takes place at the invitation of the Syrian president. Speaking to reporters at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport before leaving Iran for Syria, the president reiterated the two countries' shared views about bilateral, regional and global issues. He said that the visit to Damascus is aimed at a discussion of regional and world developments with Syrian officials. "In these talks, the two countries' relations and stances would be followed up, " Ahmadinejad said, adding that he and Syrian president would also exchange views about avenues to boost economic cooperation. "We have decided to promote bilateral ties, specially in the economic sector," Ahmadinejad added. BAZTAB - July 19 , 2007
