And Hashem said to Avram, "Go (to) (for) yourself, from your land, from your birth place, from your father's house, to the land that I will show you. (Breishis 12:1)
These words that G-d spoke to Avram is the foundation of the Jewish claim to the Land of Israel. The true borders of the Land of Israel are much larger than the current borders of the Jewish State of Israel. It is to our regret that some of our people desire to abandon our just claim to all of the Land of Israel. Avram lived in the Land of Israel and was buried in Hebron.
On Wednesday November 4th, the Reform Judaism Movement will have a convention in Toronto. A resolution will be presented which calls for the Arab of Israel to be given full rights in the Government of Israel. This means, as an example, that an 'Israeli' Arab should be given the right to be the Defense Minister. The resolution negates the right of the Jewish People to a Jewish State in the Land of Israel.

Rabbi Eric Yoffie the leader of the Reform Judaism Movement will deliver the key note address. He just recently addressed the J Street Conference. At the J Street Conference Rabbi Yoffie also made it clear that he is far from being a hardliner. While making a distinction between settlements west of the separation wall to those on its east, he stated that all settlements east of the wall need to be removed in order to allow a two-state solution. Settlement freeze, Yoffie stressed, will not be sufficient. There needs to be dismantling of settlements in the heart of the West Bank. "There are those who proclaim that Israel will simply defy the world. It will retain the settlements and Israeli rule, and the world be damned. I am among those who believe that it cannot and will not, and to suggest otherwise is to misread both what is happening in the world and the extent of Israel's power."

We will have a candle light vigil with banners and signs on opening night at the Toront Metro Convention Center.
