Below is a link to my neighbor Yekutiel's response to being Banned From Britain!. The report is just "OK," but still worth reading this summary of Torah Zionist beliefs. Unfortunately, the article contains some careless mistakes like reporting the K'far Tapu'ah was close to Hevron geographically, when they are actually quite far away from each other.

One would hope that a "Jewish" newspaper would take the time to check it's Jewish facts about Jewish geography, not mention taking the time to proof for Jewish spelling.

Jimmy Carter (I shudder to address this ignorant peanut farmer as “Former President Carter”) has brought not only shame on every American, he has cost Israeli lives… just how many will be discovered in the days and weeks to come.

Arrogantly acting against the sage advice of the most intelligent and informed career diplomats, the highest ranking officials in his own Government, domestic and foreign intelligence agencies, and many leaders in the free world, Carter has accomplished his mission.

Just what mission was that? Well, it isn’t rocket science to be able to positively affirm that Mr. Carter is a blatant anti-Semite and outspoken enemy of Israel. Under the thinly veiled guise of a “peace mission” he intended to, and has succeeded in giveing international credibility and recognition to one of the most despicable and vile terrorist organizations in the world today. He has publicly met with leaders of Hamas, and has dialogued with Hezbollah in the process. The substance of the conversations held is of no consequence whatsoever. What matters is the meeting itself – a former President of the United States breaking bread and sipping coffee with international terrorists. Such conduct is beyond mere condemnation.

It has been Mr. Carter’s intention all along to not only humiliate and embarrass Israel, but to aid in Israel’s destruction. Mr. Carter’s embracing of Hamas, his photo-op with him and his Wife mourning and laying a wreath on the grave of Arafat and his public statements which support and suborn terrorism and the murder of Israelis have been effective in destroying whatever progress has been made in the peace process to date.

Mr. Jimmy Carter has coldly calculated to embolden Israel’s enemies with a new sense of power and legitimacy by his recognizing their organizations as powerful enough to have a decided effect on the future of the Middle-East.

Mr. Carter has taken the terrorist from the sewers, alleys and rooftops into the council chambers and board rooms of international politics. In short, he has willingly played into the hands of the murderers who have, and will continue to use him to gain prestige on the world stage at the expense of the lives of Israelis and Jews everywhere.

If it were in my hands to do so, Carter would be charged and prosecuted for violating the United States Code which forbids a private citizen from conducting or attempting to influence foreign policy by directly negotiating with foreign governments, let alone entities which are internationally listed and recognized as terrorist organizations. Of course, no one in the U.S. Government has the fortitude to enforce that law where Carter is concerned.

This I do believe… that Carter is a scoundrel and a traitor of the worst measure. I applaud Mr. Olmert for his unofficial branding of Carter as persona non grata in Israel, and for refusing to admit him into Gaza or the West Bank to meet with palestinian terrorists. I believe that Carter’s trip has cost the lives of the young Israeli soldiers who were ambushed pursuing terrorists in Gaza. I believe that Carter’s trip has emboldened palestinian terrorists to commit more devastating and brazen acts of murder against Israelis.

I believe that Carter’s trip has given Syria’s dictator and supporter of terrorism more respect in the Arab world and recognition as an important player in Israel’s future. I believe that Carter’s trip has provided valuable propaganda which will be used effectively by Hezbullah and Syria as they move towards an attempt to forcibly retake the Golan.

I believe, that Carter believes, that Israel should not exist. I hope that Mr. Carter lives long enough to see Israel prevail over all who seek Israel’s destruction. Am Yisroel Chai.

JEWISH GRAVESWTONES SMASHED IN LONDON

London Jewish Cemetery Vandalized

Gravestones at a Jewish cemetery in east London were smashed in what police are calling an anti-Semitic attack.

Up to 40 gravestones were smashed, fences were damaged and a small fire was started March 29 at the Plashet Cemetery in East Ham.

Officials in the Jewish community said the cemetery had not been used for burial in recent years.

Mark Gardner, a spokesman for the Community Security Trust, which handles security for the London Jewish community, said it was unclear whether the perpetrators were local vandals or a more politicized group.

"Obviously this type of attack is very distressing,” Gardner said. "There seems little doubt that they have gone to considerable effort to commit this outrage."

Israel goes on trial in new Belgian 'court'

As Shabbat begins in the Middle East, the Jewish State of Israel is being hauled before a new so-called civil court to be charged with war crimes against Arabs.
Founded in Belgium by self-appointed "human rights" organizations, Israel is to be the first party tried by the "court."
The charges are war crimes Israel has allegedly committed in the Gaza Strip. A second docket accuses Israel of war crimes in its prosecution of the Second Lebanon War in 2006.
Israeli Arab Knesset members are reportedly already in Brussels to join with and add their "testimonies" to, those leveling the charges against Israel.
According to Ynetnews, the "court" was established after a year of cooperation between Arabs, human rights groups and European intellectuals.
Israel - which will in any case not recognize this institution or respect its rulings, has no chance of receiving any kind of a fair "trial" at the hands of the antisemitic individuals and groups involved.

Should Repudiate Distorted Report on Israel

New York, NY, February 19, 2008 ...

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today called on the United Methodist Church (UMC) to repudiate a "distorted and mendacious" report on Israel produced by one of its divisions that refers to Jews as "monsters" and compares Israeli actions to the Nazis.

The 225-page report, titled "The Israel Palestine Mission Study" comes at a time when there is a movement within the United Methodist Church to support resolutions to divest from companies doing business with Israel. The UMC is holding its quadrennial national conference in April 2008, and several draft anti-Israel divestment resolutions are being put forward for consideration. The study was produced and published by the Women's Division of the United Methodist Church General Board of Global Ministries.

Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement:
This study is a distorted and mendacious piece of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish propaganda. It repeatedly twists history and employs inciteful language to denigrate Israel and Jews. It calls Jews "monsters", refers to the State of Israel as "original sin", and outrageously compares Israel and Israeli actions to Nazis and the Holocaust.

Religious leaders have a moral obligation to reject harmful rhetoric and offer balanced and constructive measures that promote peace. This Methodist study does the opposite. We call upon the leaders of the United Methodist Church to publicly repudiate this error-filled and offensive publication.
The Mission Study:
Denies the historical yearning of the Jewish people to return to Israel, and the continued Jewish presence in the Holy Land.
Calls Israel's first president, David Ben-Gurion, an "extremist" and distorts his words to imply he supported expulsion of Arabs. In fact, Ben-Gurion wrote the opposite.
Outrageously distorts the Palestinian refugee situation by accusing Israelis of "pillaging, raping women, and massacring old and young." It fails to mention the 900,000 Jews forced to flee Arab lands after the creation of the State of Israel.
Falsely claims that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak made no genuine offer for peace at Camp David in 2000.
Employs the terms "terror" and "terrorism" when referring to actions by Israel, while terrorist actions by Palestinians are labeled "social justice" and "activism."

It decided that the United Nations would designate 27 January - the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp - as an annual International Day of Commemoration to honour the victims of the Holocaust, and urged Member States to develop educational programmes to instil the memory of the tragedy in future generations to prevent genocide from occurring again, and requested the United Nations Secretary-General to establish an outreach programme on the "Holocaust and the United Nations", as well as measures to mobilize civil society for Holocaust remembrance and education, in order to help prevent future acts of genocide.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to the Cabinet (27 January): "Today, January 27, the day on which Auschwitz - which is so identified in the world’s consciousness with the Holocaust and the annihilation of the Jews - was liberated, the world marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Knesset will hold a special discussion tomorrow. Today is also Israel’s Day to Combat Anti-Semitism. The Government of Israel monitors displays of anti-Semitism around the world and the steps necessary to deal with the phenomenon."

Children in the Ghetto

"Children in the Ghetto" is a new website about children, written for children. It portrays life during the Holocaust from the viewpoint of children who lived in the ghetto, while attempting to make the complex experience of life in the ghetto as accessible as possible to today’s children.

Along with the description of the hardships of ghetto life, it also presents the courage, steadfastness and creativity involved in the children’s lives. One of the most important messages to be learned is that despite the hardships, there were those who struggled to maintain humanitarian and philanthropic values, care for one another, and continue a cultural and spiritual life.

At the center of this site is an imaginary representation of a street in the ghetto. The site invites children to “move around the street” and “enter” various locations in it. In each of the locations, original exhibits such as video testimonies, photographs, paintings, artifacts etc. are accompanied by interactive and thought-provoking activities.
The site "Children in the Ghetto" is a result of fruitful cooperation between Snunit - a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing online education, established by the Hebrew University and the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem. This site was made possible with the support of the Claims Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

International Youth Congress

Yad Vashem has decided to initiate an International Youth Congress as part of the proceedings marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, 2008. This conference, gathering youth leaders from across the globe to meet, converse and make the voice of their generation heard on the subject of shaping Holocaust remembrance and its significance for the future, will be held at Yad Vashem.
The three-day congress will bring together students from all around the world in a joint effort to expand their knowledge on Holocaust-related issues, such as the challenges of preserving the memory of the Holocaust in the 21st century which will ultimately enable them to draft a declaration that will strengthen their commitment to Holocaust remembrance and its implications for future generations.

To be an Israeli teenager is to visit the death camps in Europe, to see the scratch marks on the walls of the gas chambers of those who tried to get out, to see the "showers", the piles of shoes and hair, and never look in they same way again at things that are taken for granted by teenagers in other places.
To be an Israeli mother is to suddenly discover that you have passed on to your children the collective memory and experience of the Holocaust. It is to understand that although you wanted to spare your children the pain so that they would not have to bear the burden that you have carried all your life, as a daughter of the Jewish people you felt the need to pass on this memory so that they and their children and their children's children would remember. And it is to realize that the national cause has overcome your motherly feeling.
To be a Jewish leader in Israel is to ask yourself whether you would have seen the writing on the wall had you been there, and whether you would have made the right decisions at the time.
And it is, above all, to pledge never to forget.

Dear Friends,

There are feelings and experiences which are failed by words the bigger the horror the more difficult it is to pass on the memory of the Holocaust to future generations.
I would like each of you to study the pictures here at Yad Vashem even if you are unable to pass on the magnitude of what you see, I would like to ask you to take only one memory with you, whether a picture of a living skẻleton, or of a pile of human bones, or that of a child, and to pass this image on.

One picture is a world. Each of these pictures screams out the horrors of the Holocaust and holds lives and dreams that vanished.The terror, humiliation, helplessness, yearning for family, waiting for salvation from those who could do nothing to help - All these you should pass on to others, not to cause them pain, but rather to prevent these images from ever becoming a reality again. As soon as people will cease to think that such crimes are possible, and then they will cease to act to prevent them from returning.
Beyond remembrance of those who died, we are faced with an obligation to the future. This obligation rests on the shoulders of leaders, and on the shoulders of every citizen of the free world.

Horrors of such magnitude are the outset the product of a distorted mind of the leader but they are also the product of the Evil in uniform who agreed to execute, and of society that remained silent.

Anyone who has seen the pictures at Yad Vashem, beginning with people perishing in the Ghettos, understands that the writing was on the wall, and there were those who stood by and photographed.

The obligation to identify, to combat and protest against such phenomena is the responsibility of everyone. Decision makers, teachers and citizens whose ability to voice their protest depends on the understanding that his voice will not die, but will be joined by many others.

As of today, you are all part of the voice which gives substance to the words and the promise of: Never again.

Why Europeans Should Support Israel

One of the most frustrating things to watch is the powerful anti-Israeli and sometimes outright anti-Semitic current that is prevalent in too much of Europe’s media. Bat Ye’or’s predictions about Arab anti-Semitism spreading in Europe as the continent’s Islamization and descent into Eurabia continues have so far proved depressingly accurate. This trend needs to be fought, vigorously, by all serious European anti-Jihadists. Not only because it is immoral and unfair to Israelis, which it is, but also because those who assist it are depriving Europeans of the opportunity to fully grasp the threat and understand the nature of the Jihad that is now targeting much of Europe as well.
In 2005 the Norwegian police issued a mobile security alarm to Carl I. Hagen, leader of the right-wing Progress Party. Mr. Hagen had criticized Islam and could see no similarity with the concept of morality and justice found in Christianity. During the 1990s, Mr. Hagen was one of the few politicians who protested against giving money to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat as a part of the Norwegian-brokered Oslo Peace Process.
Hagen said that if Israel loses in the Middle East, Europe will succumb to Islam next. He felt that Christians should support Israel and oppose Islamic inroads into Europe. In an unprecedented step, a group of Muslim ambassadors to Norway blasted Carl I. Hagen in a letter to the newspaper Aftenposten, claiming that he had offended 1.3 billion Muslims around the world. Other Norwegian politicians quickly caved in and condemned Hagen. Maybe Norway, “the country of peace” and home to the Nobel Peace Prize, will get along just fine with Islam, “the religion of peace.”
Although some political leaders such as Mr. Carl I. Hagen have a clear understanding of what’s going on, they are unfortunately few and far between. Most European media commentators are hostile to the Jewish state of Israel, partly because they get angry with anybody defending themselves against Islamic Jihad instead of surrendering, and partly because they want to project their own feelings of guilt from the Holocaust onto Israel by recasting the Jews as villains and the Palestinians as victims.
French filmmaker Pierre Rehov made the film Suicide Killers where he interviewed the families of Palestinian suicide bombers. He warns that we are facing “a neurosis at the level of an entire civilization,” a “culture of hatred in which the uneducated are brainwashed to a level where their only solution in life becomes to kill themselves and kill others in the name of a God. I hear a mother saying ‘Thank God, my son is dead.’ Her son had became a shaheed, a martyr, which for her was a greater source of pride than if he had became an engineer, a doctor or a winner of the Nobel Prize. [...] They don’t see the innocent being killed, they only see the impure that they have to destroy.”
Rehov believes that we are dealing with “a new form of Nazism” that it is going to spread to Europe and the United States, too.
Spanish journalist Sebastian Villar Rodriguez claims that Europe died in Auschwitz: “We assassinated 6 million Jews in order to end up bringing in 20 million Muslims!” Yet in 2007, Ciempozuelos, a small Madrid suburb, refused to commemorate Holocaust Day and opted instead to commemorate the ‘Day of Palestinian Genocide.’ In Britain following Muslim pressure, the Bolton Council scrapped its Holocaust Memorial Day event. The Muslim Council of Britain asked for a Genocide Day to protest the Israeli “genocide” against the Palestinians. The secretary-general of the MCB, Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, has earlier compared the situation of Muslims in Britain to Jews under Hitler.
We thus have the absurd situation where the Nazis of today are presented as Jews while the Jews are presented as Nazis.
French philosopher Alain Finkielkraut thinks that Auschwitz has become part of the foundation of the European Union, a culture based on guilt. “I can understand the feeling of remorse that is leading Europe to this, but this remorse goes too far.” It is too great a gift to present Hitler to reject every single aspect of European culture. This is said by the Jewish son of an Auschwitz prisoner.
The Holocaust was an unspeakable crime. It also did massive damage to Europe’s own identity and cultural confidence, and is one of the major causes of Europe’s seeming inability to withstand the ongoing Islamic Jihad.
As Hugh Fitzgerald notes, “Fortunately for so many, and for the Arabs, the victory of Israel in the Six-Day War promptly provided a reason to depict Jews as villains, not victims. This found an eager audience of Europeans, who were already eager for psychological reasons to find fault with Jews so as to avoid thinking unduly about the behavior of many European peoples and states during the war. [...] The damage done to the morale of Europe because of the destruction of European Jewry has been great. If Western Europe, or the West generally, were after all that has happened to permit Israel to go under, Europe would not recover.”
He warns that those who believe sacrificing Israel would in any way stop the global Jihad are very wrong. On the contrary, “The loss of Israel would fill the Arabs and Muslims with such triumphalism that their Jihad in Western Europe and elsewhere (including the Americas) would receive a gigantic boost. The duty is to make sure that Islam covers the globe; that Islam dominates, and Muslims rule.”
Europeans need to understand how closely intertwined are the fates of Israel and of Europe itself. The term “Judeo-Christian” is not a cliche. We cannot defend Western civilization without defending its Jewish component, without which modern Western culture would have been unthinkable.
The religious identity of the West has two legs: The Christian and the Jewish ones. It needs both to stand upright. Sacrificing one to save the other is like fighting a battle by chopping off one of your legs, throwing it at the feet of your enemies and shouting: “You won’t get the other one! We will never surrender!” We could always hope that our enemies will laugh themselves to death faster than we bleed to death, the Monty Python way of fighting. Maybe that works, but most likely it will leave us crippled and pathetic, if not dead.
I agree with Mr. Finkielkraut: To reduce absolutely everything about Europe to gas chambers, thereby allowing the Nazis the opportunity to expropriate everything that has been created during thousands of years, is to grant Adolf Hitler victory posthumously. We should not award him that pleasure, especially since what would replace Western civilization would be Islamic culture, the most warlike and anti-Semitic on earth, and greatly admired by Mr. Hitler for it.
We cannot change what has happened in the past. We should, however, consider it our duty to combat anti-Semitism in the here and now and make sure that the remaining Jews both in Europe and in Israel are safe. This is not just because it is our moral and historical obligation, which it is, but also because we only gain the right to defend ourselves against Islamization of we grant the same right to Israel. Likewise, we can only begin to heal our self-inflicted civilizational wounds if we embrace the Jewish component of our cultural identity.

Catholic leader rejects 'Jewish state'

Israel's identity as a Jewish state discriminates against non-Jews, the Holy Land's top Roman Catholic clergyman said in a pre-Christmas address on Wednesday.
"If there's a state of one religion, other religions are naturally discriminated against," Latin Patriarch Michel Sabbah told reporters at the annual press conference he holds in Jerusalem before the Christian holiday.

In his address, which he read in Arabic and English, Sabbah said Israel should abandon its Jewish character in favor of a "political, normal state for Christians, Muslims and Jews." "This land cannot be exclusive for anyone," he said.

With his statements Wednesday, Sabbah, a longtime advocate of the Palestinian cause, waded into a debate that has marred the fledgling peace negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians.

Israel has defined itself as the homeland of the Jewish people since it was established in 1948. The Palestinians, however, refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, saying that would mean Palestinian refugees who lost their homes after Israel's creation would not have the right to return.

Israel opposes any return of refugees, for fear they would eventually outnumber the Jewish majority. Israeli leaders recently demanded that Palestinians recognize Israel's Jewish character as part of peace talks that got under way last week, but the Palestinians have rejected the call.

Aryeh Mekel, a spokesman for Israel's foreign ministry, had no immediate comment.
Sabbah, who has been the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem since 1987, is the first Palestinian to hold the post and is frequently critical of Israel.

He also lashed out at Israel for visa restrictions he said were unfair to Christian clergy. "A state in this land must...be open to welcoming to all believers of other religions," he said.
According to the Jerusalem Center for Jewish-Christian Relations, there are an estimated 170,000 Christians in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

TWO PLEAD GUILTY TO DOMESTIC TERRORISM CHARGES OF CONSPIRING TO ATTACK MILITARY FACILITIES, JEWISH TARGETS


WASHINGTON-Two men who were part of a domestic terrorist cell pleaded guilty this morning to federal terrorism charges, admitting that they conspired to attack United States military operations, "infidels," and Israeli and Jewish facilities in the Los Angeles area.


The two men - Kevin James, who formed the terror group while in a California state prison, and Levar Washington, who was recruited by James while in state prison and recruited others into the plot - pleaded guilty to conspiring to wage war against the United States.


A third member of the radical Islamic organization which James dubbed Jam'iyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh, or JIS - Gregory Patterson - is expected to plead guilty to the terrorism conspiracy charge on Monday. The fourth member of JIS named in an indictment - Hammad Samana - has been found unfit to stand trial and is currently receiving psychiatric care at a federal prison facility.


"We are keenly aware of the threat posed by home-grown terrorism. As the guilty pleas today demonstrate, we will continue to identify and disrupt extremist cells before they can inflict harm. This case demonstrates how law enforcement cooperation at all levels thwarted a domestic plot that targeted U.S. military facilities as well as Israeli and Jewish facilities in the Los Angeles area," said Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey.


FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III stated: "This is a case in which a terrorist cell grew out of a prison cell. Despite the fact that they had no connection to al-Qaeda leaders, they had adopted their cause. These home-grown terrorists had raised the money, recruited the people, chosen the targets, obtained the weapons and set the date. All they had left to do was to strike. The JIS case is an outstanding example of how the Joint Terrorist Task Force system works. A local crime yielded clues that pointed to terrorism. That information was brought to the JTTF and soon over 300 FBI personnel and police officers were tracking suspects and unraveling the plot. It was the superb partnership between law enforcement agencies that prevented that."


U.S. Attorney Thomas P. O'Brien commented: "The prevention of future terrorist attacks is the number one priority of the Justice Department, and the investigation and successful prosecution of the JIS terrorist organization stands out as a landmark case in Southern California. With the defendants considering a series of targets to attack - including U.S. Army personnel, synagogues and others perceived as 'infidels'- this terror plot had reached an advanced level. Because these men were driven by ideological fervor, had a demonstrated ability to obtain weapons, and had planned attacks on identified targets, an untold number of lives may have been saved when this terrorist cell was dismantled."


In plea agreements filed this morning and court proceedings conducted this morning in United States District Court in Santa Ana, James and Washington admitted that they conspired "to levy war against the government of the United States through terrorism, and to oppose by force the authority of the United States government."


FBI Assistant Director in Charge Salvador Hernandez said: "Law enforcement personnel at all levels put forth a tremendous effort to put this case together and the proof of that is evident today. A terrorist attack on the city of Los Angeles, hatched in our midst and on our soil, was thwarted in the advanced planning stage. This case is a perfect example of the Joint Terrorism Task Force in that no single agency could have done this alone."


After forming JIS in 1997 while in state prison, James recruited Washington into the organization in late 2004 while both were prisoners at New Folsom Prison, where James had Washington swear an oath of loyalty and obedience to James and to JIS. After his release from prison several weeks after taking the JIS oath, Washington recruited Patterson and Samana into JIS and had them swear oaths of allegiance and obedience to JIS. After forming this cell, Washington and Patterson conducted about a dozen armed robberies of gas stations to supply money for the group's planned attacks in the Los Angeles area.


Samana researched targets and prepared a document called "Modes of Attack." The document listed "LAX and Consulate of Zion," "Military Targets," "Army Recruiting centers throughout the county," "Military base in Manhattan Beach" and "Campsite of Zion."


After Torrance Police investigators linked the two to a gas station robbery, various Jihadist documents were found at a South Los Angeles apartment where Washington and Patterson lived. In addition to the "Modes of Attack" document, investigators discovered a document titled "Notoriety Moves," which contained a James-authored statement to be given to the media after a deadly attack. The proposed press statement reads, in part, "This incident is the first in a series of incidents to come in a plight to defend and propagate traditional Islam in its purity." The document also warns "sincere Muslims" to avoid a series of targets, including "Those Jewish and non-Jewish supporters of an Israeli state."


Torrance Police Chief John J. Neu said: "I am proud of the dedication and professionalism displayed by all involved in this critical case. The awareness, knowledge, skills and abilities of the officers involved effectively thwarted this terrorist plot. This case is a prime example of the powerful radical influence which poses a serious threat from within right here in Southern California. Today's announcement shows that through teamwork we can effectively combat this threat. Unity is the key."


Los Angeles Police Deputy Chief Michael Downing, Commanding Officer, Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Intelligence Bureau, stated: "This case was an outstanding example of cooperation between local, state and federal law enforcement and in particular the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) model. It also illustrates that the best information comes from the cops on the beat and those involved in criminal investigations, hence the all-crimes approach to terrorism prevention. Homegrown terrorism remains a grave concern for the security of our country and this cell was closer to going operational than any we have seen post-911. Jamiyyat UI Is Saheeh (JIS), translated as Assembly of Authentic Islam, practiced a form radicalized Islam that was neither authentic nor peaceful."


James and Patterson pleaded guilty this morning before United States District Judge Cormac J. Carney, who is scheduled to sentence James on March 31 and Washington on April 28. As a result of his guilty plea, James faces a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison. Washington, who also pleaded guilty to using a firearm in relation to the terrorist plot, faces up to 25 years in prison.


"Investigators from the Office of Correctional Safety dedicated a significant amount of time and resources to this case. Our department has a long history of dealing with prison gangs and inmates who advocate violence. We assist our law enforcement partners on many investigations to root out criminal organized enterprise activity in our prisons," said Undersecretary David L. Runnels, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.


The investigation into the terrorist conspiracy was led by the FBI's Long Beach Joint Terrorism Task Force, whose participating agencies include the Los Angeles Police Department; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; the Torrance Police Department; the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department; the Long Beach Police Department; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; the Los Angeles Port Police; U.S. Customs and Border Protection; the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service; the Defense Criminal Investigative Service; and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Redondo Beach Police Department.


Substantial assistance during the investigation was provided by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Bureau of Investigations; the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation; the California Department of Justice; the Drug Enforcement Administration; the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations; and the Department of Defense. Father Tadeusz Rydzyk is not merely an individual. As a Priest he speaks for the Catholic Church and it is the Church that must discipline him. Now is the time for the Polish Church to act decisively.

Major British workers' union joins moves to boycott Israel

Britain's Transport and General Workers' Union has called upon its 800,000 members to boycott Israeli-made products based on what they term Israel's "criminal policies in Palestinian territories." The decision to call for a boycott, reached at a union conference in Brighton, is declarative and does not include concrete steps to implement the boycott. The TGWU is the second British union to call for a boycott on Israel this year - last month the British public services union UNISON also urged its members to refrain from purchasing Israeli products, basing the call on Israel's "criminal behavior in the territories," and Israel's responsibility for the Second Lebanon War.

In the last six months, Ontario, Canada's public services union also proposed a similar anti-Israel boycott, as did several professional unions in South Africa. In addition, Britain's University and College Union called upon its members earlier this year to consider an academic boycott of Israel, which would include holding funding from research projects run by Israeli professors and preventing Israeli lecturers from participating in seminars. Histadrut International activities director Avital Shapira said Sunday afternoon that the Histadrut labor federation views the TGWU's boycott call with severity. According to Shapira, the Histadrut has decided not to cooperate with these unions. "They expect us to help them with everything surrounding joint activities with Palestinian unions, but in light of their behavior toward us, we will hold these activities without them." The British embassy in Israel issued a response Sunday saying "the British government opposes boycotts of any kind." "The boycott declared by the Transport and General Workers' Union will not harm the growing commercial relations between the two countries," the statement said.

FBI warns colleges to watch for spies

The head of the FBI's Boston office is warning the region's top universities to be on the lookout for foreign spies or potential terrorists who might be trying to steal unclassified, yet sensitive, research.

FBI agents met recently with officials at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Massachusetts and other schools to train professors, students and security staff on how to recognize anyone who might be trying to exploit research, Special Agent in Charge Warren Bamford said.

More visits are scheduled as part of a larger nationwide program, he said.

Bamford stressed that the FBI is not seeking to censor information or stop the free flow of information, just raise awareness.

"The academic community is designed to be open, and we just have to make the community aware," he said.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute President Dennis Berkey said the FBI told researchers to protect laptops, especially in foreign countries, and to be wary about who contacts them about their work.

"The general point was, if there is unnatural or unexplained interest in your research and you're nervous about it, here's how to be in touch with us," Berkey said. He said WPI already takes precautions to protect research.

Boston College will probably follow some of the FBI's advice, spokesman Kevin Shea said.

"Boston College was very appreciative of their outreach," Shea said.

John Reinstein, legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts, expressed reservations about the program, warning that there could be a chilling effect on students or researchers.

"Are you going to ask all the questions you want to ask if someone is out there taking notes and reporting to the FBI that you asked the question which they perceived as suspicious?" Reinstein said.

MONTREAL (CP) - Police are investigating a fire at a Jewish summer camp north of Montreal that destroyed one of its residences.

No one was injured in the blaze in Val-David in the Laurentian mountains.

Investigators said Tuesday they have yet to determine whether the fire was deliberately set, but say they have several clues that suggest arson.

"The investigators... know for sure it's a suspicious fire, but we cannot say right now if it's an arson," said Quebec provincial police spokeswoman Isabelle Gendron.

Adding to their suspicions, Gendron said the summer camp was the site of a smaller fire last Saturday.

"At that time there was not much damage, but with the fire that occurred last night there is nothing left," she said.

Investigators believe someone broke into one of the camp's buildings over the weekend, prior to the first fire.

Val-David is about a one-hour drive from Montreal and is the site of several summer camps for Orthodox and Hasidic Jews.

Open Letter to the L.A.Times..

For years, I've been a working member of the press. There was a time when I looked with pride at my life's accomplishments. Of course, those were the days when such men as Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Morrow were the role models. In recent years, I've become increasingly alarmed with the trend that I've seen among those who consider themselves 'reporters' as well as those talking heads on the television's nightly news programs We listen to dumbed-down, usually attractive post-puberty 'experts' who can only speak in sound bites before they're interrupted by their co-anchor in the box. They talk about the Middle-East, but I'll bet if you put a map in front of them and asked them where that is, they wouldn't have a clue.

The CEOs of these companies wonder why their newspapers are going out of business. It's simple: it's the same as with the airlines. Lack of service.
When the newspapers began to invent the news instead of reporting the news, the public had nowhere to go but to the call in to talk stations where there was at least a chance of hearing the truth.

The worst so-called" journalism" I believe, is practiced by the LA Times. For years, I've held on to my subscription if only because I am a columnist and felt that reading the morning paper was the only way to keep up with what was happening in the world so I might give my opinion on it; which is what a columnist does.

A recent edition of the Los Angeles Times was the last straw! That Sunday's front page was covered with a picture of Jerusalem entitled, "The Struggle For Jerusalem."
I'm surprised that they didn't use their resident anti -Semite to write the biased column against the Jewish state, but nevertheless it was pretty awful.

I'm not surprised when I see that the sympathetic slant of their series is for "the plight of the poor Palestinians." After all, that's what they do best. Everything, in my opinion, that they write has always been against Israel. For example when they write that Arab families are being "cut off for good from the city of birth" because of the "Israel barrier" which Israel "insists" is aimed at keeping out suicide bombers from entering. The concept that suicide bombers are homicidal mass murderers is foreign to the Times.

Their dumbing-down the issue is working. Israel was forced to build a fence to keep out the murderers that constantly came into Israeli cities to bomb their schools, pizza restaurants, buses and neighborhood markets at will.

Prior to the barricade, we were reading in that same biased paper about how many Jews were being killed on an almost daily basis. Of course, why should I be surprised?: This is the same paper that instead of writing about how the open borders from Mexico have turned California into Mexifornia and our cities into places resembling third world countries. This same paper was also writing multi-page series about how the poor illegal immigrant families are being separated and forced to live in poverty. I wish our government had had the foresight that Israel is now showing before our country got so out of hand.

Meanwhile the L.A.Times reporter sat in their safe comfortable office, sipped lattes, and wrote about Jews and Arabs living bitterly apart. They wrote about how "Their schism is one of the key obstacles to peace"
and how the Palestinians have been "hemmed in by Israeli rule over their East Jerusalem neighborhoods."

Well gol-ly, this pampered bunch of so-called journalists write that "the status of Jerusalem remains one of the biggest obstacles to a comprehensive peace agreement" and the issue was a major stumbling block at the Camp David talks of 2,000." I wonder how they might feel if any of the wonderful illegal aliens who have come across our border from Mexico were to build an un-permitted shack without permits next door to their Starbucks. Would they write a column about how unfairly Gonzalez and his eight children were being treated when forced to tear it down? Actually, with the leftist, anti-Semitic and anti-Israel attitude that I've learned to expect from this bunch, they would probably write the same treasonous trash.

In addition to relating to poor Kamil Saou, and his five children, they elaborated how "scores of Israeli police officers converged on a bluff in East Jerusalem, surrounded his modest home and escorted a bulldozer to the door." They went on to lament that since Kamil had neglected to get a permit, "That gave the government the legal right to demolish the home." As well it should! Try that in Beverly Hills and see how fast the bull dozers come!

I wonder while the Los Angeles Times is publishing these four day, three page spreads that they noticed that virtually every other page in their paper was filled with the violence and terror caused by Islamic terrorists elsewhere? Or, is it just the "question" of Jerusalem that is causing the problems from Iraq to Dakar? This is a culture that doesn't give a damn about living in peace, side-by-side as the non-informed columnists write. I wonder if in the effort to be fair and balanced these reporters have spoken to non-Muslims from areas now controlled by the same Islamic fundamentalists who want to control Jerusalem.

I'm sure that they don't remember, but I'd like to remind them that the town of Bethlehem was once about 86% Christian. That was until pressure from front page stories and an incompetent State Department caused that holy city to be turned over to Arab control. Since then, the city has become a wasteland of roaming terrorists who have brutalized, murdered and mutilated the Christians who had been living there for generations. They've done such a good job that Bethlehem's Christian population is now less than 5%. Maybe they might want to pay more attention to the promise that once the Muslims are finished with the Saturday people, they will implement their plans for the Sunday people.

Call me silly. Call me a tad old-fashioned, but, I take offense that this beacon of understanding writes to the masses of how, "In the absence of peace, Israel and the Palestinians jostle for advantage, reshaping the holy city and further diminishing changes for an agreement." I do want to tell them though, that the Jews maintaining control of the Jewish State, for which the deed was given to them 3,500 years ago is not the reason for discord.
It's because we are dealing with a barbaric mind-set intent on killing all who are not them! The Times doesn't get it. None of the liberal press seems to get it. But, giving these savages a hug or more land isn't going to bring peace. They understand death and destruction, and want a martyr's death. I'm all for giving it to them!
