The thrill is gone....

Buyer's Remorse: Or, the thrill is gone
By Arlene Peck

There was a time when I considered myself politically savvy. I took pride in the fact that I have never missed an election since I've been old enough to vote. Aw, but that has all changed, I no longer look forward to doing my civic duty and check out the people that are running for office. I know now, at this point in time, for whom I'm voting months before an election.

I don't consider myself a republican or a democrat at this point; I am an independent. I think both major parties are corrupt and when the next election comes around, no matter who is on the ballot, I'm voting for the other one.

For those of you who are in the self imposed trance of “Oh, I don't keep up with politics.” Or worse, "Obama is the man and going to bring change attitude,” I want to talk to you about buyer's remorse.

Everyone knows about Sarah Palin and her "Going Rogue," and I am a believer in breaking ranks. I have taken pride in breaking ranks with those who surround me. The American Jews are the ones that put the Muslim (Obama) into power and I live in the land of the most liberal enclave in the nation of liberalism. Nowhere is more so than Los Angeles .

We are in a war of individual freedom. Yet, we have allowed ourselves to fall into global socialism, in which we are now drowning. Where are those who ought to know better? Where are those who have cut us to the core in our fight for these freedoms? Why do Jews continue to vote for the Demo c rats?

In decades past, Jewish communities were poor. They were newcomers to the wealth and civil rights and liberty afforded to them. The Democratic Party represented a party that they could identify with and relate to. However, over the years, times and conditions began to change. Jews reached an level of success and the needs of the previously downtrodden c hanged. They were no longer on the socio-economic plateau of the poor and deprived.

The quota system was always used against the Jewish community to suppress them. I remember when I was growing up in Atlanta , Georgia , and we had the quota system. Meaning, although we were less than three percent of the student body, at the local universities the Jewish applicant, even if he were an A student, would be passed over in favor of a wasp" student, even if he had a C average, if the school already had three percent of the class filled with Jewish students. I remember that was the system at Emory, which was predominantly a medical and dental school, which had a large waiting list of Jewish students who were not accepted because the "quota system" always worked against the Jews.

After the astounding Six Day War, a new outbreak of anti-Semitism began. What was always directed toward the Jewish people was now redirected to resentment of the Jewish State. The thinking of Jews was that adopting the new platform of liberalism would somehow make them accepted as "good Jews." We are no longer oppressed and living in an unjust country. Why not be realistic?

We enjoy freedom and liberties unheard of in past decades Our social, political and moral system is not the same that it once was and the liberals of today refuse to recognize that and remain blind to the real world.

Obama ran on a platform to change the face of the United State and he is accomplishing his goals. He has been a "false Messiah to many of my neighbors, who I know supported him and my privileged neighbors in LaLa Land are now living through "Buyer's Remorse," even though it’s not politically correct to admit it. So many of the media here in California are Jewish themselves and there is a cultural trickle down attitude, which the entertainment industry here has absorbed into their DNA without their apparent knowledge.

I am wondering what this guy is really going to do, not only for them but for this country. If the country is injured, they will be injured. That may be sinking in. I truly believe that the Big Daddy czar with the good old wholesome name of Barak Hussein Obama has created a government sub- culture of czars who are not overseen or responsible to anyone. But, they want to "share the wealth." Have you noticed, however, that those serving in the Senate and House, who want all this change, sure don’t plan on giving up any of their wonderful health care coverage ?

Obama is a master con-artist who came out of nowhere and ran on the perfect wave of resentment created by Bush. The country was so dissatisfied that, at that time, with the same old, same old, we would have elected Jack the Ripper. And, that folks is exactly who we have put in power. Obama, at the United Nations, spoke at length about the need for Israel to fulfill Palestinian claims and rights; and, used his favorite word, "refugees," and the hope of "returning" millions of Arabs to the Jewish State.

I thought that was pretty bad when he awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to two of the most virulent anti-Israel and anti-Semitic people today, Mary Robinson of Ireland and Desmond Tutu of South Africa . But the folks in Norway outdid even that fiasco with the Nobel Peace Prize. This is going to set off a new wave of Obama idolatry and that is dangerous. There was a time when I took pride in the accomplishments of the Jews and the vast numbers who had joined the exclusive company of Nobel Prize winners. But, then came the likes of Arafat and Jimmy Carter, who I believe are evil to the core. Arafat's legacy is being known as the Father of Terrorism, and the damage he managed to accomplish will be felt for decades to come. Carter? Never a man of peace, but an anti-Semite, who when he was governor of my state of Georgia was the most incompetent in memory. And, now with Obama’s inclusion in this group completes my loss of faith in the value of this award. Elie Wiesel has reason to be pretty pissed.

In closing, I'd just like to mention that Obama and Company have quietly and with little fan-fare decided to hand over to Hamas three hundred million of our tax payer dollars, supposedly to be used to "re-build" Gaza and provide for its perpetual refugees caused by what he considers to be a war of aggression by Israel. While Obama is getting ready to pressure Israel into opening the jails and letting the tigers (aka, terrorists) back into the population so they can butcher more Jews, why doesn’t someone pressure the White House to tie that tainted money to the release of captured Gilad Shalit and ensure his freedom?

Big Surprise

16 Tevet 5769

Actually, there are two, big non-surprises here. Check out the report by Gil Ronen, with graph adapted by Arutz 7 (IsraelNN.com):
"The ruling Kadima party commissioned a poll on Day 2 of Operation Cast Lead to assess how the war affected its chances at the ballot boxes in the upcoming elections, News1 reported Sunday."

Poll Of Polls

Non-Surprise #1:
The war is an election ploy.

Non-Surprise #2:
Labor has been gaining votes. Before the war began, they were projected to receive only eight mandates if the elections had been held at the time of the poll.

However, Foreign Minister Tzippy Livni (Kadima), as well as Defense Minister Ehud Baraq (Labor), may be surprised to learn that Labor has been gaining votes, not at the expense of Netanyahu's Likud Party, but at the expense of Kadima. Kadima also seems to have lost a vote or two to the left-wing Meretz Party. It is hard to tell, with gains by both Meretz and by United Torah Judaism [UTJ] of one mandate.

Livni and Baraq may also be surprised [as, quite frankly, so am I] to learn that Netanyahu's potential right of center/right-wing coalition has risen in the polls from 61 to 63 mandates. Although not significant on the surface, many have been expecting Likud to lose mandates to Labor in the polls, not gain any.

However, it seems that the usually Arab-loving, Israeli news media have finally realized that Hamas is an enemy, one which needs to be dealt with aggressively, and that negotiations as this point would only result in more Qassam rockets and Grad missiles landing on homes in the northern Negev and Shefellah Regions, all the while inching closer to Tel-Aviv,...yet another non-surprise.

Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs

Blogmaster: It seems that this article is particularly appropriate where some Israeli politicians are concerned. You decide who are the Sheep and who are the Sheepdogs...we all know who the Wolves are. One other thing...there are Sheep in Government who are trying to turn the IDF into Sheep...now who can they be???

On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs -

by Dave Grossman Lt. Colonel (RET)
Dave Grossman, author of "On Killing."

Honor never grows old, and honor rejoices the heart of age. It does so because honor is, finally, about defending those noble and worthy things that deserve defending, even if it comes at a high cost. In our time, that may mean social disapproval, public scorn, hardship, persecution, or as always, even death itself. The question remains: What is worth defending? What is worth dying for? What is worth living for? - William J. Bennett - in a lecture to the United States Naval Academy November 24, 1997

One Vietnam veteran, an old retired colonel, once said this to me:

"Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident." This is true. Remember, the murder rate is six per 100,000 per year, and the aggravated assault rate is four per 1,000 per year. What this means is that the vast majority of Americans are not inclined to hurt one another. Some estimates say that two million Americans are victims of violent crimes every year, a tragic, staggering number, perhaps an all-time record rate of violent crime. But there are almost 300 million Americans, which means that the odds of being a victim of violent crime is considerably less than one in a hundred on any given year. Furthermore, since many violent crimes are committed by repeat offenders, the actual number of violent citizens is considerably less than two million.

Thus there is a paradox, and we must grasp both ends of the situation: We may well be in the most violent times in history, but violence is still remarkably rare. This is because most citizens are kind, decent people who are not capable of hurting each other, except by accident or under extreme provocation. They are sheep.

I mean nothing negative by calling them sheep. To me it is like the pretty, blue robin's egg. Inside it is soft and gooey but someday it will grow into something wonderful. But the egg cannot survive without its hard blue shell. Police officers, soldiers, and other warriors are like that shell, and someday the civilization they protect will grow into something wonderful.? For now, though, they need warriors to protect them from the predators.

"Then there are the wolves," the old war veteran said, "and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy." Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.

"Then there are sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf."

If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen, a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath, a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? What do you have then? A sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero's path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed.

Let me expand on this old soldier's excellent model of the sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. We know that the sheep live in denial, that is what makes them sheep. They do not want to believe that there is evil in the world. They can accept the fact that fires can happen, which is why they want fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, fire alarms and fire exits throughout their kids' schools.
But many of them are outraged at the idea of putting an armed police officer in their kid's school. Our children are thousands of times more likely to be killed or seriously injured by school violence than fire, but the sheep's only response to the possibility of violence is denial. The idea of someone coming to kill or harm their child is just too hard, and so they chose the path of denial.

The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, can not and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheep dog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours.

Still, the sheepdog disturbs the sheep. He is a constant reminder that there are wolves in the land. They would prefer that he didn't tell them where to go, or give them traffic tickets, or stand at the ready in our airports in camouflage fatigues holding an M-16. The sheep would much rather have the sheepdog cash in his fangs, spray paint himself white, and go, "Baa."
Until the wolf shows up. Then the entire flock tries desperately to hide behind one lonely sheepdog.

The students, the victims, at Columbine High School were big, tough high school students, and under ordinary circumstances they would not have had the time of day for a police officer. They were not bad kids; they just had nothing to say to a cop. When the school was under attack, however, and SWAT teams were clearing the rooms and hallways, the officers had to physically peel those clinging, sobbing kids off of them. This is how the little lambs feel about their sheepdog when the wolf is at the door.

Look at what happened after September 11, 2001 when the wolf pounded hard on the door. Remember how America, more than ever before, felt differently about their law enforcement officers and military personnel? Remember how many times you heard the word hero?
Understand that there is nothing morally superior about being a sheepdog; it is just what you choose to be. Also understand that a sheepdog is a funny critter: He is always sniffing around out on the perimeter, checking the breeze, barking at things that go bump in the night, and yearning for a righteous battle. That is, the young sheepdogs yearn for a righteous battle. The old sheepdogs are a little older and wiser, but they move to the sound of the guns when needed right along with the young ones.

Here is how the sheep and the sheepdog think differently. The sheep pretend the wolf will never come, but the sheepdog lives for that day. After the attacks on September 11, 2001, most of the sheep, that is, most citizens in America said, "Thank God I wasn't on one of those planes." The sheepdogs, the warriors, said, "Dear God, I wish I could have been on one of those planes. Maybe I could have made a difference." When you are truly transformed into a warrior and have truly invested yourself into warriorhood, you want to be there. You want to be able to make a difference.

There is nothing morally superior about the sheepdog, the warrior, but he does have one real advantage. Only one. And that is that he is able to survive and thrive in an environment that destroys 98 percent of the population. There was research conducted a few years ago with individuals convicted of violent crimes. These cons were in prison for serious, predatory crimes of violence: assaults, murders and killing law enforcement officers. The vast majority said that they specifically targeted victims by body language: slumped walk, passive behavior and lack of awareness. They chose their victims like big cats do in Africa, when they select one out of the herd that is least able to protect itself.

Some people may be destined to be sheep and others might be genetically primed to be wolves or sheepdogs. But I believe that most people can choose which one they want to be, and I'm proud to say that more and more Americans are choosing to become sheepdogs.
Seven months after the attack on September 11, 2001, Todd Beamer was honored in his hometown of Cranbury, New Jersey. Todd, as you recall, was the man on Flight 93 over Pennsylvania who called on his cell phone to alert an operator from United Airlines about the hijacking. When he learned of the other three passenger planes that had been used as weapons, Todd dropped his phone and uttered the words, "Let's roll," which authorities believe was a signal to the other passengers to confront the terrorist hijackers. In one hour, a transformation occurred among the passengers - athletes, business people and parents. -- from sheep to sheepdogs and together they fought the wolves, ultimately saving an unknown number of lives on the ground.

There is no safety for honest men except by believing all possible evil of evil men. - Edmund Burke

Here is the point I like to emphasize, especially to the thousands of police officers and soldiers I speak to each year. In nature the sheep, real sheep, are born as sheep. Sheepdogs are born that way, and so are wolves. They didn't have a choice. But you are not a critter. As a human being, you can be whatever you want to be. It is a conscious, moral decision.

If you want to be a sheep, then you can be a sheep and that is okay, but you must understand the price you pay. When the wolf comes, you and your loved ones are going to die if there is not a sheepdog there to protect you. If you want to be a wolf, you can be one, but the sheepdogs are going to hunt you down and you will never have rest, safety, trust or love. But if you want to be a sheepdog and walk the warrior's path, then you must make a conscious and moral decision every day to dedicate, equip and prepare yourself to thrive in that toxic, corrosive moment when the wolf comes knocking at the door.

For example, many officers carry their weapons in church.? They are well concealed in ankle holsters, shoulder holsters or inside-the-belt holsters tucked into the small of their backs.? Anytime you go to some form of religious service, there is a very good chance that a police officer in your congregation is carrying. You will never know if there is such an individual in your place of worship, until the wolf appears to massacre you and your loved ones.

I was training a group of police officers in Texas, and during the break, one officer asked his friend if he carried his weapon in church. The other cop replied, "I will never be caught without my gun in church." I asked why he felt so strongly about this, and he told me about a cop he knew who was at a church massacre in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1999. In that incident, a mentally deranged individual came into the church and opened fire, gunning down fourteen people. He said that officer believed he could have saved every life that day if he had been carrying his gun. His own son was shot, and all he could do was throw himself on the boy's body and wait to die. That cop looked me in the eye and said, "Do you have any idea how hard it would be to live with yourself after that?"

Some individuals would be horrified if they knew this police officer was carrying a weapon in church. They might call him paranoid and would probably scorn him. Yet these same individuals would be enraged and would call for "heads to roll" if they found out that the airbags in their cars were defective, or that the fire extinguisher and fire sprinklers in their kids' school did not work. They can accept the fact that fires and traffic accidents can happen and that there must be safeguards against them.

Their only response to the wolf, though, is denial, and all too often their response to the sheepdog is scorn and disdain. But the sheepdog quietly asks himself, "Do you have and idea how hard it would be to live with yourself if your loved ones attacked and killed, and you had to stand there helplessly because you were unprepared for that day?"

It is denial that turns people into sheep. Sheep are psychologically destroyed by combat because their only defense is denial, which is counterproductive and destructive, resulting in fear, helplessness and horror when the wolf shows up.

Denial kills you twice. It kills you once, at your moment of truth when you are not physically prepared: you didn't bring your gun, you didn't train. Your only defense was wishful thinking. Hope is not a strategy. Denial kills you a second time because even if you do physically survive, you are psychologically shattered by your fear helplessness and horror at your moment of truth.
Gavin de Becker puts it like this in Fear Less, his superb post-9/11 book, which should be required reading for anyone trying to come to terms with our current world situation: "...denial can be seductive, but it has an insidious side effect. For all the peace of mind deniers think they get by saying it isn't so, the fall they take when faced with new violence is all the more unsettling."

Denial is a save-now-pay-later scheme, a contract written entirely in small print, for in the long run, the denying person knows the truth on some level.

And so the warrior must strive to confront denial in all aspects of his life, and prepare himself for the day when evil comes. If you are warrior who is legally authorized to carry a weapon and you step outside without that weapon, then you become a sheep, pretending that the bad man will not come today. No one can be "on" 24/7, for a lifetime. Everyone needs down time. But if you are authorized to carry a weapon, and you walk outside without it, just take a deep breath, and say this to yourself...

"Baa."

This business of being a sheep or a sheep dog is not a yes-no dichotomy. It is not an all-or-nothing, either-or choice. It is a matter of degrees, a continuum. On one end is an abject, head-in-the-sand-sheep and on the other end is the ultimate warrior. Few people exist completely on one end or the other. Most of us live somewhere in between. Since 9-11 almost everyone in America took a step up that continuum, away from denial. The sheep took a few steps toward accepting and appreciating their warriors, and the warriors started taking their job more seriously. The degree to which you move up that continuum, away from sheephood and denial, is the degree to which you and your loved ones will survive, physically and psychologically at your moment of truth. --

What Is Racism?

Erev Shabbath Qodesh Tzav/Purim 5768

Yekutiel Ben-Ya'akovYekutiel Ben-Ya'akov stands convicted of "Incitement to Racism," and is expected to be sentenced on this coming Tuesday. Below is my translation of a poster (click image to enlarge) which can be seen around Israel, protesting the Israeli government's policies, which have failed to protect its citizens.

The Expulsion of Jews Is Not Racism

But...

To Suggest the Expulsion of Hostile Arabs Is Racism

Such is what the "religious" Judge Rivka Friedman-Feldman has ruled -

- in a ruling she gave against Yekutiel Ben-Ya'akov who was convicted of "Incitement to Racism," for arranging an independent, national referendum. In a referendum which was set up before the expulsion of Jews from Gaza ("Disengagement"), the Misha'lot Yisrael organization, under the authority of Yekutiel Ben-Ya'akov, offered two proposals tens of thousands of participants in the poll were asked to choose between "Sharon's Disengagement Plan," which meant the expulsion of thousands of Jews from their homes, and the "Jewish Disengagement Plan," to expel hostile Arabs, and to move them far away from the borders of the Land of Israel to prevent terrorist attacks and the shooting of Kassam rockets over Israel's cities.

Come protest against this injustice, on the day the judge is to pass sentence on Yekutiel. He can face up to five years imprisonment. Whoever supports such a ruling which even prohibits the mounting of a "survey," suggesting the removal of our enemies from Israel, an participant in any terror attack or Kassam that falls!

Dear Families in Mourning and People who dwell in Zion, We are sorry!

...but Judge Rivka Frienman-Feldman and her friends have decided: The need to protect the rights and sensitivities of Arab enemies overrides the right of our children to live!!!

The death sentence of the eight holy men and boys killed on Rosh Hodesh Adar Bet 5768 (March 7, 2008) at the Merkaz HaRav Yeshivah, was signed and sealed of by the ring of the "Ahashveroshes" and encouraged by the "Hamans" who sit in the Kenesset, and who interpret the law in the courthouses.

We are really sorry, but consolation is not at all relevant. written norms in the Kenesset and in the courts to continue to remain amongst us to butcher us and our children (May God have mercy on us!).

Whoever does not protest against this is complicit in murder, and will not be able to say that his hands have not spilled any of this blood.

Demonstration across from the Courthouse, Tuesday, 18 Adar Bet 5768 (March, 2008), 9:30 AM (the time of sentencing arguments)

Israel's Support of Fatah Terrorists = An Egregious Error!!!

Note: How can anyone agree that arming those who are sworn to kill us is a good idea? Even if we see Fatah as the lesser of two evils, the monies and arms that we transfer to Fatah will ultimately be used to kill Israelis. Olmert admits that there is more than a distinct possibility that this so-called "Aid" will fall into the hands of Hamas or others bent upon our destruction. Stupid?... No, this is beyond stupidity or lack of judgment, it is perfidiousness at it's worst. The $562 Million would be better spent on the victims of the destruction of Israeli towns and homes during the "evacuation" of Israeli land in the Gaza Strip. Why is "the Risk Taker" Olmert still in power??? After his inept handling of the Lebanon War we thought the government would topple! Now he is taking another ill-advised risk that can only lead to more terrorist attacks and Israeli dead. Israel is a ship without a captain and a broken rudder, steaming in circles with no clear destination and no one willing to take the helm and set the proper course. B'nai Elim Blogmaster

Gov't OKs $562 Million Transfer to Fatah Terrorists

9 Tammuz 5767, 25 June 07 03:22
by Gil Ronen
(IsraelNN.com) The Israeli government approved a phased transfer of $562 million Sunday to the terrorist Palestinian Authority (PA), headed by Fatah's Mahmoud Abbas, also known as 'Abu Mazen'. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert acknowledged that there is a risk that Abbas will cave in to pressures from the Arab world and again form a "unity government" with Hamas. In case this happens, Olmert admitted, the funds being transferred will likely fall into Hamas' hands.

Olmert said, however, that he left his meeting with US President George W. Bush with the message that the transfer of funds would open "a window of opportunity for 'the peace process.'"

The first installment of the transfer is expected to be handed over within the next few days. The government was assured that the transfer is to be accompanied by the establishment of an "oversight mechanism" that will supposedly ensure that they do not fall into terrorist hands.

The funds in question are tax monies collected by Israel for the PA from residents of eastern Jerusalem. They were frozen after the Hamas won the PA elections in 2006.

The money transfer will be the chief "gesture" the government intends to present to Abbas in Monday's regional summit meeting at Sharm el-Sheikh. Diplomatic sources said there was no intention at the moment to hand over more weapons and ammunition to Abbas, but hinted that Israel would be forthcoming if asked by American mediator Keith Dayton to take additional steps – presumably, to ease restrictions on movement in Judea and Samaria.

Only two ministers voted against the measure: Avigdor Lieberman and Yitzhak Aharonovich of Yisrael Beiteinu. However, Minister Lieberman said Sunday that his party would not leave the ruling coalition despite the decision. “Abu Mazen, [Fatah Gaza terror leader Mahmoud] Dahlan, and the rest of those wimps have no intention of arresting even one terrorist,” Lieberman said, adding that "Abbas is an opportunist who tours the world but has violated every agreement." However," Lieberman added, "Yisrael Beiteinu will remain in the coalition in order to influence the government from within."

Olmert was asked about the risk involved in easing restrictions on the PA, and replied: "When you make a move like this, you have to be willing to take risks, although it isn't easy."

At this point, Minister Lieberman said "the problem is that we only take risks and never get anything in return. Oslo A, Oslo B, the Disengagement. We took risks but what good did it do?"

General Security Service (Shabak) chief Yuval Diskin told the government that Abbas, whose forces were clobbered in Gaza, is weak in Judea and Samaria as well. "The Fatah is divided and crumbling," he said. "He is not as strong in Judea and Samaria as one might think."

Deputy Prime Minister Eli Yishai (Shas) said that by handing over the money in stages, "we will be able to ensure if Abu Mazen's strengthening is only declarative… If he does not get stronger we will stop transferring money."

"Lieberman is a partner to terror"
Four members of the National Union / National Religious Party fired a simultaneous rhetorical salvo at Minister Avigdor Lieberman, for his decision to stay in the government despite the decision to aid the PA.

MK Aryeh Eldad called the decision “foolish and criminal,” and called on Minister Lieberman to leave the coalition, saying that Lieberman was now a “partner to terror” despite voting against the money transfer. He noted that the government was now Hizbullah's partner in arming Fatah.

MK Effie Eitam called on Lieberman to leave the government as well, saying the government’s decision “proves that Lieberman has zero influence.” Eitam added: "Lieberman's earlier statement – 'if Hamas is not taken apart, the government will be taken apart' – was proven today to be a hollow one. Meanwhile, the Hamas took apart Gaza and Olmert is taking apart Lieberman in the government."

MK Uri Ariel said "Minister Lieberman is trying to be a member of the government without being responsible for its failures… These funds are fueling terror and no sleight-of-tongue will change this."

MK Tzvi Hendel asked – "How far shall we take this folly? Instead of bringing back our deterrence capability and finishing off Gaza's terror and its leaders, Olmert is nurturing a new false Golden Calf in the form of Abu Mazen and the Fatah, and thus building the basis for a new keg of terror which will go off in Judea and Samaria."

FROM THE FAT INTO THE FIRE

Peres as president, and now Barak as Defense Minister??? What's next... maybe Shua Arafat as Prime Minister! - Blogmanster

A Non-Jew Becomes President of Israel

1 Tammuz 5767, 17 June 07 01:29

by Prof. Paul Eidelberg
(IsraelNN.com)
Does the title of this article appear outlandish to you? If so, you don't know Shimon Peres.

First of all, Peres has long advocated the transformation of Israel from a Jewish state to "a state of its citizens." Second, consider this excerpt from Mr. Peres's interview with Ha'aretz following his defeat by Benjamin Netanyahu in the May 1996 prime ministerial election:

Interviewer: What happened in this election?
Peres: "We lost."

Interviewer: Who is we?
Peres: "We, that is the Israelis."

Interviewer: And who won?
Peres: "All those who do not have an Israeli mentality."

Interviewer: And who are they?
Peres: "Call it the Jews."

Based on his own words, it is not outlandish to call Shimon Peres a non-Jew. Indeed, when Peres was Israel's foreign minister in the 1991-1995 Rabin government, he applied for Israel's membership in the Arab League. Any sensible person would have deemed Peres a jackass. But such has been the decline of sense or sensibility in Israel that this jackass is deemed Israel's "elder statesman."

Third, this "elder statesman" was the architect of the disastrous Oslo Accords, or the Israel-PLO Agreement of 1993. Since it was he, more than anyone, who rehabilitated PLO chief Yasser Arafat and brought that villain to Israel, Peres must be deemed complicit in the murder of more than 1,500 Jews.

How fitting, therefore, are the words of Moshe Sharett, a former Israeli prime minister, who said of Peres: "I have stated that I totally and utterly reject Peres and consider his rise to prominence a malignant, immoral disgrace. I will rend my clothes in mourning for the State if I see him become a minister in the Israeli government." (Personal Memoirs, 1957)

But now let us pause and ask: Can we benefit at all from the "malignant, immoral disgrace" resulting from Shimon Peres's rise to prominence as Israel's president?

Yes, if this galvanizes thoughtful and patriotic Jews to work together to render his costly office unnecessary, by advocating an executive presidential system of government to replace Israel's divisive and corrupting system of multi-party cabinet government. This has been one of the objectives of the Yamin Israel party. However, an executive presidency must be balanced by a strong legislature, one whose members are individually accountable to the voters rather than to party oligarchs.
It is the lack of accountability that has enabled Peres to remain in the Knesset for some six decades. This impossible politician has never had to compete against a rival candidate in a district election, a rival candidate that would expose Peres's record of duplicity and incompetence, of political sabotage and collaboration with the enemy.

If we do not purge Israel of this "malignant, immoral disgrace" - perpetrated by a Knesset whose members do not really represent the voters, indeed, who are despised by a vast majority of the public - the so-called Jewish State will surely, if not deservedly, perish.
