Blogmaster’s rant: I am old fashioned, I’m a Chabadnik and reasonably religious, I am a dedicated Zionist, I believe that not one centimeter of Jewish land should be relinquished for any reason, I believe that the “Two State Solution” means the death of Israel as a Jewish Homeland and a Jewish State. I also had a grievous personality fault…I tended to trust other American Jews to do what is right for Israel and our people. I have learned a hard lesson…I have learned to trust no one who voted for Obama, to trust no one who espouses drivel such as what we hear from “Peace Now” and others of their ilk, and to trust no one who, as a Jew, would support measures and ideals that would be contrary to what is best for Israel as a Jewish State.
In my opinion, the wealthy, influential American and Israeli Jews listed below are lower than whale dreck on the ocean floor. They are no better than the Judenrat or the spies that returned to inform Moshe that Israel was not as Hashem had promised. Throughout our history, we have been plagued by collaborationists such as these modern-day Hellenists. With the help of Hashem, we have always prevailed and we will do so again. For Brit Tzedek, “we’ve got your back” means that President Obama does not have only the passive support of the organization and our grassroots advocates. We are actively committed to helping him bring his policy goals to fruition, getting the word out and winning hearts and minds. The President has said that he wants a two-state solution by the end of his first term – Brit Tzedek will help face down naysayers, and provide him with the political breathing room and active assistance he’ll need.

2. What can the U.S. do if the Israelis and Palestinians don’t respond positively to President Obama's efforts?
Clearly, any peace deal will have to be struck between the two parties. No one can force Israelis and Palestinians to accept an agreement they don’t want. However, there’s a difference between forcing an agreement, and using the U.S. government’s powers of persuasion. A powerful example can be seen in the success of the 1998 Irish peace talks, mediated by former Senator George Mitchell, who serves currently as the Special Envoy to the Middle East.
By deploying talented, dedicated people to the region – Mitchell has gone several times, Secretary of State Clinton has been, envoys have been sent to Syria – and empowering them to achieve agreement, President Obama has signaled that he’s serious about achieving a two-state resolution by the end of his first term. This seriousness demonstrates that the parties have a real ally in the effort to end the violence, and also serves notice that the U.S. is no longer willing to accept an endless cycle of destruction.
On both sides, a majority of ordinary people have consistently said that they want a two-state solution. Many Israeli and Palestinian politicians, intellectuals, military experts, and cultural icons agree. The positions of a particular government aren’t necessarily a reflection of the peoples’ willingness to achieve peace. If the U.S. invests fully in diplomacy, encourages cooperation, and helps to clarify that only peace can bring true security, America can serve a crucial role in turning the reality around.
3. Can individuals pledging really make a difference in political policy?
It’s not the pledge itself, so much as the actions to which you pledge yourself. It’s very easy to do nothing when it seems nothing can be done. But by committing yourself to action, you’ll join your voice to Jewish Americans across the country who want to see a peaceful resolution of the conflict, and want the U.S. to take a leading role in finding that resolution. For decades, American politicians have believed that American Jews line up behind official Israeli policy and are unwilling to consider a two-state peace accord with the Palestinians. Writing to Congress, taking part in Action Alerts, writing to newspapers and blogging your opinions – all this informs our leaders that many support the new policy direction, and changes the tone of the discourse. Reaching out to friends and family expands the circle of advocates who will work to achieve a real solution.
4. What can Congress do to influence foreign policy?
Congress approves our national budget, and this carries enormous weight. For instance, if the administration wants to direct funds to monitoring implementation of a new agreement, it won’t be able to without Congressional approval. Furthermore, Congress represents the people: If it rejects an Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the administration will understand that it doesn’t have either the political or popular support it needs to act. The recent sea-change in Congressional attitudes has played an important role in giving the Obama administration the political room to voice its policy plans, and if this momentum gains, the openness to diplomacy will also grow.
5. Does Obama really pay attention to the grassroots?
Yes, he does, in particular with regards to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Brit Tzedek has been advocating with Barack Obama from his days as a Senator, and our members and national leaders often turned to him to express their thoughts on the conflict during his campaign. Representatives of the Obama campaign met with Brit Tzedek prior to the election, and during the transition period.
Among the first actions the President took post-inauguration were many that Brit Tzedek had urged for years, and he’s often used language that echoes Brit Tzedek’s positions. He has consistently made it clear that he wants to hear from the individuals who make up the American electorate, and has shaped policy responsive to the needs he’s heard.
6. Who can sign the pledge?
The pledge is geared toward American Jews, but any American who supports a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is encouraged to sign, and join in our advocacy.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has long been at the center of American Jewish discourse. In the U.S., Obama is trying to turn America into a Socialist Dictatorship while at the same time, his virulent hatred for Israel and the Jewish People has been unmasked for all to see. Any American Jew who continues to support Obama is nothing more than a Judenrat, a traitor to G_d, and a traitor to his people. It is time to make a choice…Stand up for your Jewish heritage and fight against the imposter in the White House or forever hang your heads in shame. Obama is a cheap political hack, trained well in thuggary and deception on the streets of Chicago. Those who would destroy the United States and all America stands for are pulling his strings. He and the rest of his ilk must be ousted from office at the first opportunity. It is the responsibility of all who love America to work as never before to replace the liberal scourge in Washington D.C. with leaders who love and respect the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Obama was aptly named after his Father whose name was also Hussein (One of the first forms of the name was Hasan, who in Islamic tradition was the grandson of Muhammed). It is obvious to me that Obama is taking the Quran literally and is obsessed with being remembered by history as fomenting the total destruction of Israel and bringing about the downfall of “The Great Satan” (the United States of America) and all of Western Civilization as we know it. Obama slammed as `racist` at Jerusalem rally

JERUSALEM – President Obama`s policies against Jewish construction in eastern Jerusalem and the strategic West Bank were slammed as "racist" today by participants in a rally drawing about 2,000 Israelis in front of the U.S. consulate in Jerusalem.

"George Mitchell go home!" yelled protestors in front of the U.S. government building.

Mitchell, Obama`s envoy to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, is here discussing the American administration`s call for a halt to all Jewish settlement activity, including natural growth or accommodating the needs of existing Jewish populations in the areas in question.

The protest began in front of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu`s official residence. Marchers then made their way to the U.S. consulate about one block away.

"Obama should not be pressing Israel to compromise and freeze building in Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem," protest organizer Yaacov Steinberg told WND.

All these steps in the past just brought more Palestinian terror and showed Israeli weakness," said Steinberg, director of a coalition of West Bank Jewish organizations.

Speaking at the rally, Rabbi Eliezer Waldman, who heads the prestigious "Nir" Torah seminary in the West Bank city of Kiryat Arba, called Obama a "racist."

"How dare he tell the Jews where they can or can`t live! The era when Jews were banned from living in different places has ended," Waldman exclaimed.

"Obama beware. This insolence will bring about the downfall of the American leadership. Anyone who dares give an order to prevent Israeli life in Jerusalem or anywhere else in the land of Israel is destined to fall," he said.

Pinchas Wallerstein, director of the Yesha council of Jewish communities in the West Bank, told the crowds, "This week the American pressure reached new highs that are a shame to democratic societies."

Wallerstein was referring to the summoning of Israel`s ambassador to Washington last week by the State Department to demand a Jewish construction project in eastern Jerusalem be immediately halted.

"It`s absolutely an outrageously racist policy," Mort Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, told WND. "Especially in light of how Obama should be sensitive when it comes to anything that would remotely constitute discrimination of people based on ethnicity or religion."

The construction project at the center of attention, financed by Miami Beach philanthropist Irving Moskowitz, is located just meters from Israel`s national police headquarters and other government ministries. It is a few blocks from the country`s prestigious Hebrew University, underscoring the centrality of the Jewish real estate being condemned by the U.S.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly rejected the State Department demand, telling a cabinet meeting Sunday that Israel`s sovereignty over Jerusalem was not a matter up for discussion.

"Imagine what would happen if someone were to suggest Jews could not live in or purchase [property] in certain neighborhoods in London, New York, Paris or Rome," he said.

"The international community would certainly raise protest. Likewise, we cannot accept such a ruling on East Jerusalem," Netanyahu told ministers.

In a statement released to WND, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, long considered one of the most powerful Jewish groups in the U.S., took strong issue with the U.S. demand against Jewish construction in Jerusalem.

"We find disturbing the objections raised to the proposed construction of residential units on property that was legally purchased and approved by the appropriate authorities. The area in question houses major Israeli governmental agencies, including the national police headquarters."

"The U.S. has in the past and recently raised objections to the removal of illegal structures built by Arabs in eastern Jerusalem even though they were built in violation of zoning and other requirements often on usurped land," read the statement.

The group`s statement pointed out Moskowitz`s housing project formerly was the house of the infamous mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, who spent the war years in Berlin as a close ally of Adolf Hitler, aiding and abetting the Nazi extermination of Jews.

Al-Husseini was also linked to the 1929 massacre of Jews in Jerusalem and Hebron and to other acts of incitement that resulted in death and destruction in what was then called Palestine. Some Palestinians have expressed a desire to preserve the building as a tribute to Husseini.

Historically, there was never any separation between eastern and western Jerusalem. The terminology came after Jordan occupied the eastern section of the city, including the Temple Mount, from 1947 until it used the territory to attack the Jewish state in 1967. Israel reunited Jerusalem when it won the 1967 Six Day War.

US President Barack Obama claims to be a big fan of telling the truth. In media interviews ahead of his trip to Saudi Arabia and Egypt and during his big speech in Cairo on Thursday, he claimed that the centerpiece of his Middle East policy is his willingness to tell people hard truths. Indeed, Obama made three references to the need to tell the truth in his so-called address to the Muslim world.

Unfortunately, for a speech billed as an exercise in truth telling, Obama's address fell short. Far from reflecting hard truths, Obama's speech reflected political convenience.
Obama's so-called hard truths for the Islamic world included statements about the need to fight so-called extremists; give equal rights to women; provide freedom of religion; and foster democracy. Unfortunately, all of his statements on these issues were nothing more than abstract, theoretical declarations devoid of policy prescriptions.

He spoke of the need to fight Islamic terrorists without mentioning that their intellectual, political and monetary foundations and support come from the very mosques, politicians and regimes in Saudi Arabia and Egypt that Obama extols as moderate and responsible.
He spoke of the need to grant equality to women without making mention of common Islamic practices like so-called honor killings, and female genital mutilation. He ignored the fact that throughout the lands of Islam women are denied basic legal and human rights. And then he qualified his statement by mendaciously claiming that women in the US similarly suffer from an equality deficit. In so discussing this issue, Obama sent the message that he couldn't care less about the plight of women in the Islamic world.
So too, Obama spoke about the need for religious freedom but ignored Saudi Arabian religious apartheid. He talked about the blessings of democracy but ignored the problems of tyranny.

In short, Obama's "straight talk" to the Arab world, which began with his disingenuous claim that like America, Islam is committed to "justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings," was consciously and fundamentally fraudulent. And this fraud was advanced to facilitate his goal of placing the Islamic world on equal moral footing with the free world.

In a like manner, Obama's tough "truths" about Israel were marked by factual and moral dishonesty in the service of political ends.

On the surface Obama seemed to scold the Muslim world for its all-pervasive Holocaust denial and craven Jew hatred. By asserting that Holocaust denial and anti-Semitism are wrong, he seemed to be upholding his earlier claim that America's ties to Israel are "unbreakable."

Unfortunately, a careful study of his statements shows that Obama was actually accepting the Arab view that Israel is a foreign — and therefore unjustifiable — intruder in the Arab world. Indeed, far from attacking their rejection of Israel, Obama legitimized it.

The basic Arab argument against Israel is that the only reason Israel was established was to sooth the guilty consciences of Europeans who were embarrassed about the Holocaust. By their telling, the Jews have no legal, historic or moral rights to the Land of Israel.

This argument is completely false. The international community recognized the legal, historic and moral rights of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel long before anyone had ever heard of Adolf Hitler. In 1922, the League of Nations mandated the "reconstitution" — not the creation -- of the Jewish commonwealth in the Land of Israel in its historic borders on both sides of the Jordan River.

But in his self-described exercise in truth telling, Obama ignored this basic truth in favor of the Arab lie. He gave credence to this lie by stating wrongly that "the aspiration for a Jewish homeland is rooted in a tragic history." He then explicitly tied Israel's establishment to the Holocaust by moving to a self-serving history lesson about the genocide of European Jewry.

Even worse than his willful blindness to the historic, legal, and moral justifications for Israel's rebirth, was Obama's characterization of Israel itself. Obama blithely, falsely and obnoxiously compared Israel's treatment of Palestinians to white American slave owners' treatment of their black slaves. He similarly cast Palestinian terrorists in the same morally pure category as slaves. Perhaps most repulsively, Obama elevated Palestinian terrorism to the moral heights of slave rebellions and the civil rights movement by referring to it by its Arab euphemism, "resistance."

But as disappointing and frankly obscene as Obama's rhetoric was, the policies he outlined were much worse. While prattling about how Islam and America are two sides of the same coin, Obama managed to spell out two clear policies. First he announced that he will compel Israel to completely end all building for Jews in Judea, Samaria, and eastern, northern and southern Jerusalem. Second he said that he will strive to convince Iran to substitute its nuclear weapons program with a nuclear energy program.
Obama argued that the first policy will facilitate peace and the second policy will prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Upon reflection however, it is clear that neither of his policies can possibly achieve his stated aims. Indeed, their inability to accomplish the ends he claims he has adopted them to advance is so obvious, that it is worth considering what his actual rationale for adopting them may be.

The administration's policy towards Jewish building in Israel's heartland and capital city expose a massive level of hostility towards Israel. Not only does it fly in the face of explicit US commitments to Israel undertaken by the Bush administration, it contradicts a longstanding agreement between successive Israeli and American governments not to embarrass each other.

Moreover, the fact that the administration cannot stop attacking Israel about Jewish construction in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, but has nothing to say about Hizbullah's projected democratic takeover of Lebanon next week, Hamas's genocidal political platform, Fatah's involvement in terrorism, or North Korean ties to Iran and Syria, has egregious consequences for the prospects for peace in the region.

As Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas made clear in his interview last week with the Washington Post, in light of the administration's hostility towards Israel, the Palestinian Authority no longer feels it is necessary to make any concessions whatsoever to Israel. It needn't accept Israel's identity as a Jewish state. It needn't minimize in any way its demand that Israel commit demographic suicide by accepting millions of foreign, hostile Arabs as full citizens. And it needn't curtail its territorial demand that Israel contract to within indefensible borders.

In short, by attacking Israel and claiming that Israel is responsible for the absence of peace, the administration is encouraging the Palestinians and the Arab world as a whole to continue to reject Israel and to refuse to make peace with the Jewish state.
The Netanyahu government reportedly fears that Obama and his advisors have made such an issue of settlements because they seek to overthrow Israel's government and replace it with the more pliable Kadima party. Government sources note that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel played a central role in destabilizing Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's first government in 1999, when he served as an advisor to then president Bill Clinton. They also note that Emmanuel is currently working with leftist Israelis and American Jews associated with Kadima and the Democratic Party to discredit the government.

While there is little reason to doubt that the Obama administration would prefer a leftist government in Jerusalem, it is unlikely that the White House is attacking Israel primarily to advance this aim. This is first of all the case because today there is little danger that Netanyahu's coalition partners will abandon him.

Moreover, the Americans have no reason to believe that prospects for a peace deal would improve with a leftist government at the helm in Jerusalem. After all, despite its best efforts, the Kadima government was unable to make peace with the Palestinians as was the Labor government before it. What the Palestinians have shown consistently since the failed 2000 Camp David summit is that there is no deal that Israel can offer them that they are willing to accept.

So if the aim of the administration in attacking Israel is neither to foster peace nor to bring down the Netanyahu government, what can explain its behavior?

The only reasonable explanation is that the administration is baiting Israel because it wishes to abandon the Jewish state as an ally in favor of warmer ties with the Arabs. It has chosen to attack Israel on the issue of Jewish construction because it believes that by concentrating on this issue, it will minimize the political price it will be forced to pay at home for jettisoning America's alliance with Israel. By claiming that he is only pressuring Israel in order to enable a peaceful "two-state solution," Obama assumes that he will be able to maintain his support base among American Jews who will overlook the underlying hostility his "pro-peace" stance papers over.

Obama's policy towards Iran is a logical complement of his policy towards Israel. Just as there is no chance that he will bring Middle East peace closer by attacking Israel, so he will not prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons by offering the mullahs nuclear energy. The deal Obama is now proposing has been on the table since 2003 when Iran's nuclear program was first exposed. Over the past six years, the Iranians have repeatedly rejected it. Indeed, just last week they again announced that they reject it.

Here too, to understand the President's actual goal it is necessary to search for the answers closer to home. Since Obama's policy has no chance of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, it is apparent that he has come to terms with the prospect of a nuclear armed Iran. In light of this, the most rational explanation for his policy of engaging Iran is that he wishes to avoid being blamed when Iran emerges as a nuclear power in the coming months.

In reckoning with the Obama administration, it is imperative that the Netanyahu government and the public alike understand what the true goals of its current policies are. Happily, consistent polling data show that the overwhelming majority of Israelis realize that the White House is deeply hostile towards Israel. The data also show that the public approves of Netanyahu's handling of our relations with Washington.

Moving forward, the government must sustain this public awareness and support. By his words as well as by his deeds, not only has Obama shown that he is not a friend of Israel. He has shown that there is nothing that Israel can do to make him change his mind.

The crime of silence is a crime that most Jews commit against themselves. One of the Ten Commandments says, “Thou shall not bear false witness,” i.e., do not lie. That is a negative commandment – what not to do. Simply keeping silent might satisfy that negative commandment even if one keeps silent in the face of malicious lies. Too many Jews today keep silent in the face of malicious lies by their enemies and thus give the impression that those lies may be true. The prophet Isaiah 62.1 has stated the essential positive side of that negative commandment:

“For the sake of Zion I will not be silent,
For the sake of Jerusalem I will not be still,
Till her victory emerge resplendent
And her triumph like a flaming torch.”

The first official meeting between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Obama on May 18th was a missed opportunity for Netanyahu to speak truth to power as written by Isaiah. Before the meeting, U.S. officials set the stage for heavy pressure on Israel’s Netanyahu to publicly agree to a “two state solution.” Israel was cast in the role as being “an obstacle to peace” with pressure to agree to quickly relinquish “land for peace” and take “risks for peace” even with no concessions, no recognition and no reining in the terrorists byIsrael’s so-called “peace partners.” The Obama Administration set a diplomatic trap, allowing no escape other than suicidal concessions as part of a U.S.-sponsored (i.e. dictated) “peace plan.” Those concessions were the price for a vague (and essentially worthless) promise by the U.S. to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. In advance, it was clear that any hesitation by Netanyahu would place the onus for failure exclusively on Israel, including responsibility for any future Arab-Israeli war that might result. Netanyahu tried to offer some positive steps short of creating an independent Palestinian state inside Israel’s heartland, but these did not satisfy the Obama Administration and U.S.-Israeli relations are very likely to suffer.

Now let us imagine a different response by Prime Minister Netanyahu, to be delivered in the public news conference following their private meeting. Suppose Netanyahu spoke as follows:

“Mr. President, your ‘requests’ sound more like demands with threats behind them. If we agree to your ‘requests’ Israel will be on the path to destruction, and you must be fully aware of that. In the past, Israel has always tried to acquiesce to American ‘requests,’ even when very painful, to avoid angering or offending the U.S. administration. We have paid a bitter price, time and time again, for subordinating our security to American policies aimed at pleasing or placating the Arab and Muslim worlds. We can no longer afford to place our very survival in jeopardy, not even to placate our dear and beloved friend, the United States of America. It is high time that we speak truth to power in the spirit of the prophet Isaiah. You have made your requests, and you demand clear and timely answers from me. I now present our questions to you, and likewise, we expect clear and timely answers from you.

“Mr. President, you have said that our complying with your requests to create a Palestinian state will facilitate Iran not going nuclear. But there is absolutely no evidence to support this claim. Certainly the Ayatollah’s regime has never said so. President Ahmadinejad, supreme religious leader Ali Khamenei, former President Rafsanjani, and numerous other members of the Iranian ruling elite have made it absolutely clear, time and again, that what they seek is not a Palestinian state but the complete destruction of the ‘Zionist entity’ forever.

“You say that your policy ‘dialogue’ with the mullocracy will dissuade Iran from developing nuclear weapons. But all of the evidence of history indicates that talking to a fanatical, militant regime is no way to prevent it from pursuing aggressive, warlike goals. The U.S. tried to dissuade North Korea from going nuclear. The nuclear bomb test that the North Korean regime has just conducted (May 25th, Memorial Day), demonstrates just how well the strategy of negotiations with a fanatical and inhumane regime works. America’s policy of tolerating Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, and even giving Pakistan hundreds of millions annually in military aid, has also failed. Pakistan is rapidly expanding its nuclear arsenal even as the threat of Taliban takeover of this strategic country has been steadily growing. And of course, Neville Chamberlain’s strategy of talking to Hitler and relying on his cynical promises was not successful in halting Germany’s weapons development program, or its aggressive actions, either. Mr. President, you need to learn from history. And with all due respect, Mr. President, why should we Israelis bet our very lives on your strategy of friendly conversations with our worst enemies?

“Mr. President, consider the map of the greater Middle East. It shows one Jewish country, Israel, with 10,000square miles, including the so-called ‘occupied’ territories. It shows 57 Muslim states with about 12 million square miles. Please explain why one tiny country is more than enough for Jews, but 57 countries are not enough for Muslims? Why are 12 million square miles so insufficient that they must go to war over another 2,300 square miles, from Israel’s heartland, to expand Muslim lands by an infinitesimal 0.02 percent?

“Mr. President, Jordan was created in 1922 on land previously assigned by the victorious Allies of World War I to Great Britain, as a ‘sacred trust,’ to facilitate the establishment of a Jewish National Home. Jordan, an Arab kingdom, now possesses 77 percent of this original Palestine Mandate territory. Why then, do we need a further partition of the remaining 10,000 square miles of Palestine, an area only the size of the state of Vermont, which the League of Nations set aside for the development of the Jewish National Home? How can you deny that Jordan, all of whose people live within the original mandated territory of Palestine, is already the state of the Palestinian Arabs? Why do we need a second Arab state in Palestine? And how can you deny to the Jewish people the bare minimum of land necessary to protect themselves from attack and to find homes for their rapidly growing population? How can you demand an end to all ‘natural growth’ in Israeli towns and villages (the so-called ‘settlements’), thereby denying thousands of young Jewish couples the right to build homes for themselves and their children? And how can you demand, as indeed you do, that Israel uproot up to 500,000 Jews from their homes, in order to make all of Palestine outside Israel’s June 4, 1967 borders judenrein, and to satisfy through this proposed ethnic cleansing the demands of the Palestinian Authority and the League of Arab States?

“Mr. President, there is a map of Palestine that was displayed by Arafat’s PLO and continues to be displayed on all official offices, publications, websites, on official stationary, and in school textbooks in all areas administered by Mahmoud Abbas’ ‘Palestinian Authority’ government. That map shows NO Israel at all. Why does your administration not object to this Palestinian map of “NO Israel” that matches the PLO Charter, which states that the creation of the State of Israel is null and void? The U.S. government accepted a PLO promise to amend the Charter but has ignored the fact that the PLO and the PA failed to amend it. To this day it remains unchanged, while young Palestinian Arabs are taught in their U.S.-funded schools that Israel has no right to exist, and that all of its territory is “Palestine.” Why have you failed to address these outrages?

“There is a yet another map that is located in the archives of the U.S. government. After the Six Day War, President Johnson asked the Pentagon and the CIA to produce a map showing the minimal territory needed by Israel to insure its security. Their map included the Golan Heights, Gaza, Jerusalem, most of the West Bank and small parts of the Sinai. The map was then classified ‘Top Secret’ and withheld from the public. This map validated Israeli concerns over American demands to move back towards the vulnerable boundaries of May 1967. The Wall Street Journal published this map in 1983, but it remains ignored. Will you now acknowledge this map and its conclusions?

“Mr. President, can you explain why the Arabs attacked Israel repeatedly between 1949 and 1967 when the so-called ‘occupied territories’ were under Arab rule, and there were no Jewish ‘settlers’ permitted to live in them?

“Mr. President, when in May and June of 1967 Egypt and Syria mobilized their armies along Israel’s borders, placed a blockade on Israel’s only outlet to the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and openly proclaimed their intention to destroy Israel, the U.S. government declined to lift a finger to assist Israel. Why did the U.S. fail to honor its prior commitment to prevent Egypt from blockading Israel’s southern port? Why did the U.S State Department claim it could not even find the document in which the commitment was made only 11 years earlier?

“And when Egypt and Syria were preparing to attack Israel once again in 1973, why did America fail to warn Egypt and Syria not to attack Israel? Why, when the U.S. knew very well that allowing the Arabs to strike first would cost Israel heavily, did it still insist that Israel let its enemies strike the first blow?(See memo of Conversation – Abba Eban at the U.S. Defense Department, May 20, 1967). Israel lost more than 3,000 of its finest young men and women when it accepted this American “advice.”

“And what is most important, Mr. President, why, in view of this tragic history, should we rely on your soothing but vague promise to treat our security as ‘sacrosanct?’ And why should we rely on your National Security advisor’s somewhat less elegant promise to ‘not throw Israel under the bus?’ Why, when past U.S. presidents have failed to keep much stronger and more concrete promises, should we rely on your vague, meaningless ones?

“There is a stark lesson that these past attempts by the Arab world to destroy us have taught us: when in June 1967, Israel decided to resist American pressure to do nothing in the face of an immediate threat to its survival, it won a great victory in six days; while in 1973, when Israel obeyed the U.S. demand that it not ‘pre-empt’ its enemies’ imminent attack, it barely escaped destruction at their hands.

“Today, Israel faces new demands from your administration which could lead to our destruction. We also know that the U.S. has never placed itself under anylegal obligation to come to our assistance in the event of aggression against us. We must now make a difficult choice: either to comply with your demands, and once again risk the lives of all of our people, or to resist them, and incur your anger and possible retaliation. Mr. President, before you make any more demands on us, I suggest that you provide some credible response to the questions that I have posed for you. These questions are only a small sample of the many that could be posed. And you would do well to also read the book The Secret War Against the Jews – How Western Espionage Betrayed the Jewish People,by John Loftus and Mark Aarons, if you wish to understand why Israel cannot afford to place its people’s lives at risk, even to please its best friend.
“Mr. President, as a self-professed Christian, you should be familiar with the book of Genesis, in which G-d clearly promises the land to Abraham and to the Jewish people in perpetuity. You should also be aware of Genesis 12:3 which contains a promise and a warning to the nations and for all time:

“Iwill bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

“Mr. President, there is much history and many questions that need reviewing in order to set this region on the proper road to peace. I look forward to pursuing that review with you in a spirit of mutual respect.”

This is what PM Netanyahu should have said, and what everyone who respects rational thought would have approved.
